Si-Jia is currently completing the thesis portion of an MPhil in FinTech at UCT. She holds a Bachelor of Business Science in Actuarial Science from the University of Cape Town and has had a keen interest in Computer Science and Data Science since her undergraduate degree. She is particularly interested in building tools to better understand data provenance and ownership in the digital economy. A prime believer in open-source technology, she has maintained that spending an hour to automate a once-off five-minute manual task is worth it if only to save someone else time later.
