Anda Ngcaba is the Executive Director and a member of the Executive Committee at the University of Cape Town Financial Innovation Hub (FinHub), where he leads strategy, innovation, and thought leadership to drive financial inclusion and digital transformation across the continent. With over eight years of experience spanning finance, innovation, and technology, Anda is widely recognized for his leadership in building impactful ecosystems at the intersection of academia, entrepreneurship, and capital.
Anda joined FinHub in 2021 as its second employee and Chief of Operations, playing a pivotal role in scaling the platform from its inception. In January 2024, he was appointed Executive Director, where he has since led fundraising efforts resulting in over R73 million to support research, venture creation, and ecosystem development.
Under his leadership, Anda conceptualized and implemented FinHub’s Funnel Strategy, aligning academic research, teaching, thought leadership, and innovation with real-world impact. This strategic framework has catalyzed multiple spin-off startups and helped position FinHub as a leading platform for financial innovation on the continent. He also founded the GenesisBloc Launchpad, a pre-incubator programme supporting emerging entrepreneurs, and launched the FinHub Hack Series I, fostering a vibrant innovation culture across UCT and beyond.
Anda is also a Non-Executive Director at The Cortex Hub, a leading technology incubator in East London, Eastern Cape, and sits on the Investment Committee of SolCon Investments, a Johannesburg-based single-family office managing a diversified portfolio in assets across technology, infrastructure, and alternative investments.
Anda is also the founder of PropUP, a property technology startup, and previously worked at DFS Lab, where he supported early-stage fintechs across Africa and Asia. His career includes roles in venture operations, investment analysis, and innovation management.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics (PPE) from the University of Cape Town, a Postgraduate Diploma in Management from the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS), University of Pretoria, and is a Certified Financial Modeling and Valuation Analyst (FMVA).
