Nedbank Group presents the Payments Innovation Pitch-Off Competition!
The top six submissions will be required to pitch their new or existing ideas to a panel of experts from Nedbank Group Technology & Payments divisions and members of the UCT Financial Innovation Hub Team. This pitch will take place during the Nedbank’s guest lecture focused on Payments Innovation
We’re looking for solutions that have potential to create meaningful and lasting change in society, driving real transformation in people’s everyday lives.

As the Technical Product Owner for Cash & Liquidity Management Solutions, Nicolan brings an entrepreneurial mindset to the forefront, driving value across the entire product ecosystem through Run, Change, and Disrupt activities. Known for his focus on agility, smart work, urgency, and clear prioritisation, he ensures excellence and professionalism in every aspect of his work. Nicolan’s expertise spans both business and technology, and he is committed to using his financial acumen for a positive impact on the industry.
Roscoe Stuurman - Technical Product Owner: Payments
Roscoe Stuurman is a seasoned leader in financial services, payments, and health insurance. With a strong background in process engineering, technology, and business management, he is currently a Technical Product Owner for Payments at Nedbank, focusing on payment technology strategies and product development.
Previously, Roscoe held key roles at Discovery Health, managing digital health solutions for over five years. His earlier career at Nedbank included positions such as Lead Payment Business Integrator and Payments Process Engineer, where he improved payment experiences and operational efficiencies.
Roscoe holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Management Practices from Henley Business School and an Honours in BComm Management Accounting (CIMA) from Stellenbosch University.
